What Kyocera is good at

Kyocera is the brand most Kenyan offices meet first, and the one they tend to keep. Its two ranges cover almost everything a business needs to print: ECOSYS for the A4 machine that sits beside a desk or serves a floor, and TASKalfa for the A3 copier that a whole department shares.
What separates Kyocera from the rest of the market is the way the machines are built to be consumed. In an ECOSYS, the drum and developer unit are engineered to last the working life of the printer rather than being bundled into the cartridge, so a routine top-up replaces toner only. Over three or four years that is the difference between a cheap machine that is expensive to feed and a serious one that is not.
Long-life drum design
ECOSYS machines keep the drum and developer as separate long-life parts, so a routine cartridge change replaces toner and nothing else.
Two clear ranges
ECOSYS covers A4 print, copy and scan; TASKalfa covers shared A3 colour and mono. Model numbers tell you which is which at a glance.
Parts that stay available
Kyocera keeps consumables and spares in circulation long after a model stops shipping, which is why refurbished TASKalfa units remain a sound buy.

Choosing a model
Which Kyocera fits your office?
Kyocera model numbers read cleanly once you know the pattern. ECOSYS M and P models are A4; TASKalfa models are A3. A "c" before the "i" (351ci, 3253ci, 4053ci) means colour — without it the machine is mono.

Kyocera cartridges are identified by a TK code, and that code is the only thing you need to order. Our Optimum compatible line covers the full range at a fraction of the genuine price; the Optimage line and the universal refill powder cover the older mono machines.
How to read these prices: Colour TK codes are sold as four separate cartridges — black, cyan, magenta and yellow — and the price shown is for one cartridge. Mono codes are a single black cartridge.

The three questions that come up on WhatsApp most often about Kyocera machines and cartridges.
What is the difference between Kyocera ECOSYS and TASKalfa?
ECOSYS is the A4 range — desktop and workgroup machines up to A4 paper, usually sitting on a cabinet or a desk. TASKalfa is the A3 range — larger floor-standing copiers with document feeders, multiple paper trays and optional finishers. If you never print or copy A3, an ECOSYS is almost always the cheaper and more sensible machine. If you handle A3 drawings, ledgers, folded programmes or high daily volumes shared by many people, buy a TASKalfa.
Is Kyocera toner expensive to run?
It is one of the cheaper laser platforms to run in Kenya, for two reasons. First, the drum and developer are separate long-life parts, so you are not paying for a new drum with every cartridge. Second, the TK codes are well supplied here — our compatible Optimum cartridges start at KES 1,200 for the small mono codes. Tell us your model number on WhatsApp and we will quote the exact TK code it takes.
Do you service Kyocera machines you did not sell?
Yes. We service, install and supply parts and toner for Kyocera machines regardless of where they were bought, in Nairobi and upcountry. Send us the model number and a short description of the fault and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth repairing or whether a refurbished replacement would cost you less.
